Long Island, NY - March 25, 2014: "Demo Night" formerly called "Pitch Night" is an event that is held by LaunchPad Long Island every month where four startup companies present their businesses to angel investors as well as a room full of startup enthusiasts. Each presenter is given 10 minutes to talk about the company, followed by 5 minutes of questions and answers. The companies are then scored based upon whether the product is worthy enough to be in the marketplace. The audience and the investors are both responsible for scoring, based on a score of 1-10. Each make up 50 percent and the winner is given an invitation to present once again, this time to the Long Island Angel Network.
The March winner, which was announced on March 24, was PopMarker. This is a platform that combines innovative technology and machine learning to deliver a visually targeted ad to images. Trillions of images exist and they are tailored based upon the product or service that someone is promoting within the marketplace.
As the company boasts, it is possible to access the content found within images that 40 percent of the web was unable to access in the past. A patent is currently pending for the product and a variety of companies have already taken advantage of this advertising method, including Little Caesars and Turkish Airlines.
"This is a huge honor and we are so excited about our interactive in-image advertising startup," comments founder Sarper Kocabiyik. This is the second win that the company has achieved after making a presentation about what the site has to offer. Upon visiting the Long Island Angel Network Panel, it may be possible to receive additional funding to continue fueling the project's momentum.
